“What do you say to ice cream?” She caught her bottom lip in her teeth, a small grin lighting up her face. “I know the perfect place. And it isn’t even close to closing time, so you shouldn’t have a problem with it melting too quickly.” Quirking a brow, she giggled as I swept her into my arms and kissed the ever-loving hell out of her. Right there in the parking lot. After I kissed her breathless, I snuck the keys out of her other hand as I broke away, dangling them in front of her.

“Finally.” The grin on my face widened. I climbed behind the wheel after almost two weeks of being laid up or chauffeured around. The wheel natural in my grip, even if it’s only my Jeep. But eyeing Alex as she climbed in laughing at me, her sundress riding up and giving a glimpse of her thigh, I didn’t care. My hands twitched with the need to see exactly what color panties she wore today.

Fuck.

Driving with a hard-on wasn’t the most comfortable thing I’ve dealt with. The smile on Alex’s face was worth it. I turned into the parking lot of the ice cream place by the beach house. With a grin, she climbed out of the Jeep, and I followed, remembering the last time we snuck out together and where those melting cones led us.

Our first kiss, on the beach. Toes in the sand.

“Come on, Mav, and try not to drop your ice cream this time.”

With a grin, I held open the door for her and teased, “Who says I didn’t do it on purpose?”
